I've taught over 100 young musicians since 2018, engaging students through piano, music theory, as well as music and movement classes.
In 2021, I started Gracia Music Studio to help young pianists play the piano with confidence and have fun with music. In 2025, I started building Online Music Nest to allow busy families to still have easy access to music lessons despite hectic schedules.
Piano lessons often included music theory, but often, there was not enough time to play all the games we intended or to dive deep into activities that nurtured understanding and mastery of the music theory concepts.
But music theory sets the foundation for every young musician to achieve much more and it must not be neglected. Hence, Music Theory Club was birthed.

"a great combination of online lessons, pre-recorded lessons and quizzes."
"Our girls greatly enjoyed the music theory class. The setup was enjoyable with a mix of pre-recorded lectures, workbook pages, theory games and zoom sessions. Gracia was always willing to answer questions and provided feedback on submitted work in a timely manner."
- Julie Hamilton
"(Music Theory Club) is useful especially where we as parents do not have any music theory background "
- Ellane Ng
"The class was both engaging and educational. My kid thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and learned the music theory in a fun and interactive environment."

Online group lessons are held over Zoom every alternate* week, according to a given schedule. There are a total of 10 live online group lessons spread across two school terms (5 lessons per term). Each lesson lasts 1 hour.
A stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone (preferably a laptop or desktop), stationery and your Music Theory Workbook.
No, there will be no make-up lessons, as this is a group class.

For now, we are not able to open more time slots. If you are unable to join the Zoom lessons, please consider purchasing the Lite course instead.
No, we don't. If you would like to book adhoc 1:1 sessions, you may request to arrange a time with the teacher for an online consultation. However, please note that scheduling a 1:1 consultation is subject to the teacher's availability. Standard consultation rates apply.
All learning activities and theory workbook assignments for each topic should take an average of approximately 1-2 hours to be completed. However, we recommend that students spend more time if needed.
No, it is not compulsory to take the exams! The decision is yours.
However, if you are considering practical exams beyond Grade 5 or further music studies for your child, we recommend taking the Grade 5 Music Theory exam upon completion of the course in due time.
This is because a pass in Grade 5 Music Theory is a common prerequisite for practical exams beyond Grade 5 and several music programmes in schools (i.e. to apply to music programmes in arts colleges like LASALLE, NAFA, Polytechnics and more).
For students currently in the O Level Music Programme or considering to study Music as an examinable subject in the Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) exam:
-It is no longer mandatory for students to have a Music Theory certificate to take Music as an examinable subject in secondary school.
- However, students in secondary school music programmes are not taught music theory. Instead, it is highly recommended that they have a strong music theory foundation in order to excel in the subject.
Music theory is essential for every musician to be competent at pursuing music at a higher level.
Currently, we only have Grades 1 and 2 available. But we will certainly roll out the other grades subsequently – one new grade every 6 months.

Registration closes on 29 June 2026 for Guided Courses (Terms 3 and 4, running from June to November 2026). The next batch will begin in January 2027.
Lite courses are available for purchase all year round.
